【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisguideistoestablishcriteriaforthedesignofgloveboxesasprimaryconfinementsystemstoensurethesafetyoftheworkersandtheprotectionoftheenvironmentwhenstoring,handling,processing,anddisposingofbothcombustibleandnon-combustibleformsofplutonium.Theuseofthisstandardwillprovidetheuserwithguidancetodesignasuccessfullyperforminggloveboxsystem.1.1Thisguidedefinescriteriaforthedesignofgloveboxsystemstobeusedforthehandlingofplutoniuminanychemicalorphysicalformorisotopiccompositionorwhenmixedwithotherelementsorcompounds.Notincludedinthecriteriaaresystemsauxiliarytothegloveboxsystemssuchasutilities,ventilation,alarm,andwastedisposal.Alsonotaddressedarehotcellsoropen-facehoods.Thescopeofthisguideexcludesspecificlicenserequirementsrelatingtoprovisionsforcriticalityprevention,hazardscontrol,safeguards,packaging,andmaterialhandling.Observanceofthisguidedoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtoconformtoallfederal,state,andlocalregulationsfordesignandconstructionofgloveboxsystems.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablilshappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
